| We felt called to try to help the starving, stray dogs that come to the St. Francis Church on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation in Whiteriver, Ariz. We started feeding the stray dogs about five years ago. In October of last year, Willow, a stray dog who has eaten at the church, left three puppies at the back door of the church. Her story was the beginning of SAVE OUR DOGS. You can read her story on the Willow’s STORY page. We are a small Franciscan parish in the Gallup Diocese of New Mexico, which is the poorest in the country. Our three parishes will lose $35,000.00 in grants this year. The unemployment rate on the reservation is 80%. We need help with food, medical, housing, fencing, supplies, etc. for the stray dogs that come to the church, and the ones that are being fostered out. We need people who can send $5.00 a month to help us with our S.O.D. ministry. We feel that $5.00 a month would be a reasonable donation in this economy. Please pray about it and see if this is something you could do monthly. We pray you will become a part of our S.O.D. ministry and help us care for the dogs in need. You will help us build dog runs at the church. We need a safe place for mothers to have their litters where their pups cannot be stolen. We have a problem with the Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick, we need to treat our strays for fleas and ticks. We need dog catching poles and crates. We need to catch the strays eating at the church so we can take them to the vet to be spayed or neutered or get needed medical attention. We need safe places fenced for them to recover in. Your donations will help us
